UFZ_editedpsdUCCRN and Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ Leipzig) recently collaborated on a two-day workshop for the authors of the ARC3-2 Economics, Finances and the Role of Private Sector and Housing and Informal Settlements chapters. The workshop, held June 2-3, 2014 in Bonn, Germany, followed on the heels of the annual ICLEI Resilient Cities World Congress.

UCCRN Co-Director Cynthia Rosenzweig presented the background of UCCRN and current ARC3-2 progress. The discussion included strengthening financial markets in developing countries to facilitate access to international capital, including a new categorization of sources of funding for cities, and including key messages for stakeholders; and innovative mechanisms to provide financing for low income housing, among other topics.
