UCCRN Presents at Geography 2050

Last week, fromGeo2050 November 19-20, UCCRN’s Director’s and Co-founders, Dr. William Solecki and Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig, presented at Geography 2050, the American Geographical Society’s fall symposium. The conference was held at Columbia University and was centered on “exploring our future in an urbanized world.” Dr. Solecki presented on the important role cities play and will continue to play in sustainability and emphasized the vital part they will play in the Paris negotiations. Dr. Rosenzweig presented on cities and disaster risk and resilience, she used the telling example of Hurricane Sandy and its affect on New York City. Their presence at the conference contributed to thoughtful conversations on climate change and cities.
