Case Study Docking Station (Beta)

Welcome to the UCCRN Case Study Docking Station.

arc3.2_csds_croppedThe Second UCCRN Assessment Report on Climate Change and Cities (ARC3.2) includes more than 115 city Case Studies, now searchable in this online database–designed to allow for further exploration and examination of cases.

These Case Studies display empirical evidence on what cities are doing on the ground to mitigate and adapt to climate change, across a diverse set of urban challenges and opportunities. The ARC3.2 Case Study Docking Station is designed to inform both research and practice on climate change and cities by enabling initial scientifically valid cross-case comparisons and analysis across a range of social, biophysical, cultural, economic, and political contexts.

Search ARC3.2 Case Studies by keyword, topic, location, city size, latitude range, and more below.

Human Development Index (HDI) – UNDP measure of life expectancy, education, and income per capita, grouped into four development categories. Higher ratings indicate better outcomes.
Gross National Income (GNI) per capita – GDP plus income earned from foreign workers, divided per capita and grouped into four categories of income. The World Bank Atlas method was used in converting foreign currencies to US$, which reduces the impact of exchange rate fluctuations.
GNI per capita is meant to only serve as an indicator; the Case Study city in question may be richer or poorer.
City and metropolitan areas are measured differently in each country, in some cases data may be unavailable.
